My professional experience
I am British and originally come from London, England, and after studying French, German and European politics (BSc Econ) at Cardiff University in Wales, I took up my first professional position on the shores of Lake Geneva in the world-famous town of Evian-les-Bains. 12 years spent working at a luxury resort comprising a 4-star and a 5-star hotel, a golf club, three spas and a casino, taught me how to apply rigour and precision in my work along with the importance of customer service and hospitality.
I am passionate about languages and therefore at the same time I became a freelance translator from French into English in the fields of food and drink, the hotel industry, spas, golf and tourism.
I am now a full-time translator and a member of the French Translators’ Association (La Société Française des Traducteurs) and I regularly take part in training programmes – IT, linguistics, sales and marketing – to continually improve my skills. I am also the author of three bilingual French-English books for young children, created in collaboration with the illustrator Déborah Mocellin and publisher lirecestpartir.fr
Finally, my love for French food and food in general led me to recently set up “Dine in France” on social media with the aim of providing English-speaking foodies who love France and its gastronomy with information on the latest news and trends with details of fairs, festivals and restaurants who are committed to offering international visitors a great experience.
Please feel free to contact me regarding your translation needs. I would be most happy to discuss your projects with you.
